About the property

The Luckystone Inn was named after a local stone, called the Crinoid or Luckystone. You can find these little treasures hidden among the stones along Lake Michigan in Saugatuck / Douglas. Oddly enough, the Luckystone isn’t a stone at all, it is actually a plant fossil. We have a bowl of Luckystones on our front porch that we began collecting the summer of 2021.

Located steps away from the shops, galleries, restaurants and waterfront in downtown Saugatuck, the Luckystone Inn is nestled in a quiet oasis of hundred year-old trees. Each of our suites is uniquely decorated, with plenty of space to spread out. While the Luckystone Inn exudes historical charm, it has all of the modern conveniences that guests need.

Enjoy a drink on the front porch with friends, sip coffee in the beautiful gardens, and relax after a fun-filled time in Saugatuck. Whether you are looking for a day at the beach, a hike through the trails, winery or brewery tours, or a shopping adventure in town, the Luckystone Inn is a great place to land.

About the owners

Sarah & Eric purchased the Inn August 2021. Sarah runs the Inn full-time. Eric is a professor at a local university. We have a helpful, friendly, adorable 3-year old daughter that will quickly say ‘hi’ to you when you arrive.

Saugatuck / Douglas is a special place for us. We first met in high school on the Douglas beach and reconnected many years later in the area. We were married on the very same Douglas beach back in 2011. When the Inn property came up for sale in 2021, it seemed like the perfect next adventure and chapter in our lives.

We look forward to your stay.
